Ottavio Marzocca
Professor of Ethical-political Philosophy and Social Ethics at University of Bari (Italy). In his many essays and books he was interested with contemporary French thought, problems of geo-philosophy and Italian neomarxism. In the last few years, he devoted particular attention to the forms of government of our society, taking as principal references the analyses of Michel Foucault on biopolitics, governmentality, liberal political rationality and "ways of subjectivation."
On these matters he published, among other books, Perché il governo. Il laboratorio etico-politico di Foucault (Roma 2007) and he coordinated the edition of the volume: Lessico di biopolitica (Roma 2006), the French edition of which is also forthcoming.
Currently he works about the relationships between the forms of politics and the world as space, territory and environment. He coordinates the research group "Le tre ecologie" (University of Bari) and he collaborates with the Centre of interdisciplinary studies on "Biopolitica, Bioeconomia, Processi di Soggettivazione" (BBPS - University of Salerno - Italy).
